Swisstainable

Camping is all about experiencing nature. If this experience of nature is to be enjoyed long-term, we must protect nature and the environment. 

This is why TCS Camping supports the sustainability strategy of Switzerland Tourism and the tourism industry and is actively committed to the Swisstainable programme.

TCS campsites already place a great emphasis on sustainability: we source all our electricity from hydro and other renewable energy sources, purchase CO2 certificates to offset carbon emissions on the quantities of gas and gas cylinders supplied to us, and offer a rental service for BMWi3s, e-bikes and Carvelos (electric cargo bikes), to name just a few examples.

The sustainability programme is implemented in three phases

Level 1 – committed

TCS Camping is committed to sustainable business management and to continuously developing its campsites further towards sustainability.

  • All TCS campsites are in the Swisstainable Level 1 category, meaning they have pledged themselves to following the sustainability programme and are now striving to reach Level 2.

Level 2 – engaged

TTCS Camping is committed to sustainable business management and has a recognised credential in various sustainability dimensions.

Level 3 – leading

TCS Camping has a comprehensive, recognized sustainability credential.

ECOCAMPING

The initiative for ecological camping.

ECOCAMPING means holidays with nature. ECOCAMPING has been supporting campsites on their way to greater sustainability for over 25 years. Sustainability in companies means environmentally friendly and socially responsible behaviour in the long term. The basic idea of ECOCAMPING is to unite economy and ecology in the camping industry.

TCS Camping is proud to participate in the ECOCAMPING programme. Today, several TCS campsites have already been awarded the ECOCAMPING certificate and are therefore "engaged" at Swisstainable Level II:

Our commitment to sustainable products

Sustainability and social responsibility are important to us at TCS Camping. That is why we use environmentally friendly materials such as natural or recycled raw materials and ensure that our products are made under fair working conditions. Whenever possible, we prefer local production.

We also place a high value on the origin and quality of our food in the restaurant. We source our food regionally and/or use sustainable labels such as Bio, Fairtrade or Max Havelaar. This means that our guests can enjoy their food without any worries and be sure that their choice makes a positive contribution to people and nature.
