Important security advice regarding camping reservations

Published on 23 October 2026, updated on 26 October 2026

The external reservation software provider that TCS Camping uses for its campsites has been the target of a cyberattack. According to the provider, booking data might also have been stolen during this attack. On the basis of the information currently available, we assume that only the booking data of guests who were staying at one of our campsites at the time of the incident or who have a reservation for a future stay are affected.

Important:

  • Credit card details are not saved in the affected reservation software. Only information about payments already made, such as the status of a paid deposit, is stored.
  • No TCS systems containing TCS Member data have been affected by this incident. The security incident affects the external provider of the reservation software used by TCS Camping.
  • The security vulnerability has been fixed and bookings are now possible again without any problems. However, as data that has already been stolen could still be used for phishing attempts, caution should continue to be exercised in the coming days.

Fraudulent emails and WhatsApp messages sent to guests have been reported in connection with this incident. These messages may relate to an existing campsite reservation and may, for example, ask the recipient to confirm details or make a payment via a link. The following data was used in the messages: name of the guest, telephone number, name of the campsite, reservation number, type of accommodation or pitch, arrival and departure dates.

Please follow the security advice below:

  • TCS Camping never sends any automated booking details or payment requests via WhatsApp.
  • Do not click on links in suspicious WhatsApp messages or emails.
  • Do not enter any personal details, credit card information or payment information via such links.
  • Do not make any payments on the basis of an unexpected WhatsApp message or email.

If you have already clicked on a link of this kind or have entered payment information, we recommend that you contact your credit card provider or bank immediately.

We are taking the incident very seriously and are in close contact with our software provider. Investigations are currently underway. As soon as we have any more verified information, we will update this page accordingly.

We are sorry for any concern and uncertainty that has been caused and thank you for your attention and understanding.
